While these mats are durable, they are still a decor piece. There will be more notable wear and tear on them with higher amounts of direct traffic. To maintain the longevity of your doormat, it is best to avoid direct sunlight, rain, or snow as best as possible; the design may fade under these conditions. I recommend having these mats in a covered area outside, or indoors. When fibers become wet with rain or snow they will darken. To clean your doormat, simply give it a good shake!
